A Boyhood Life Remembered

This portrait of my dad was created by composing a scene from several oil sketch studies done in similar light on location at an outdoor cafe and the olive grove where he farmed as a boy. The final painting was rendered in the studio from photos and sketch study composites, depicting an idyllic scene of my dad's medieval hometown in Moricone, Italy.
